A Guru Tarot Deck???

I dunno. The idea struck me a while ago. Here’s an Experimental Tarot Card I made just a few minutes ago. It isn’t the internet, it’s a tarot deck. A physical Object of Daily Use for some. For many, it’s a mystical journey into the Realm of the Unknown, whatever that means, anyway. In any case, it ain’t the Internet. Heck, it’s not even a computer game. Alice knew the Truth: “Why, you’re nothing but a deck of cards!!!” So here’s a First Offering, a suggested possibility for one of the cards, but why this one in particular? Because I happened to have the photo models in my orb-maker at the moment, that’s why. It coulda been anyone as the gurus; I haven’t decided yet whom to include. I’ll try to be fair, but the deck must be actual and useful, so it might contain more exotic gurus from other dimensions, although who could be more exotic??? Or…or…who knows what, just yet???

Arms & Armor Tarot??? Read All About It.

One of our many websites happens to be arms-and-armor where we offer chess sets, books and other items related to the subject of the website. It occurred to me that there isn’t a tarot deck based on historic arms & armor, and there should be. It can be argued that tarot is not a violent sport, but the fact is that it was invented and developed to forecast, and the most important forecasts in ancient and medieval times was the weather, food and the outcome of a looming battle, war, campaign, political confrontation or intrigue. Only then came love, sex and family matters. Of course, the whole deal was created originally for the benefit of the local or regional or known-world leader, but eventually, as all things must, the tarot and other divination devices came to the Middle Class, which is us.

Comic Books and Tarot Cards

This is the look of my Medieval Domain, the home of some of my high level of detail tarot decks, notably the dragon, medieval and Falconetta Tarot Decks. I’m also working on a few comic books, notably Zombie Girl Comics and Vampire Comics. I’ve come up with a DIY (Do It Yourself) Comic Book Kit, if anyone’s interested. It’ll cost around $50, if we’re lucky and the layout printing job doesn’t come in any higher than I’ve planned for. What the kit consists of is a layout set, ready for your drawings, captions and text balloons, making a pocket-book sized comic of 40 pages. The cost of creating a full-color 40 page comic book today is somewhere around $50 or more, and that’s in quantity, unless you go off-shore, in which case the cost per single copy of full-color full-sized comic comes to around half a buck, but then there’s shipping and customs. Whew. Give me Staples copy center every time, and a deal where I can print a single copy per demand at an acceptable retail cost. What do you think of the idea of using GODD screenshots like the one above in a full-color comic? If you want to keep in touch with all the latest stuff, I’d suggest that you follow my tweet, you should pardon the expression, and get on our special “notify me” mailing list — you have to ask, practically beg, to get on that list; we don’t put you there, unless you want to be on that list, and demand it. My method with new folks in study groups has always been “make ’em work for it”, meaning The First Initiation is to actually get off your lazy butt, leap off the couch, switch off the Smart Phone, and swing into action!

Pre-Columbian Tarot Deck Coming Soon at a Theater Near You!!!

Just taking a break from building a major breakthrough “movie” set in the GODD gaming environment. I found that we had something on the order of 125+ models and several hundred more textures that would work well in a Meso-American tarot deck, so I launched off into a world-building session and came up with a doozy. Everyone is demanding that I stop everything else and work on this photo set, perhaps even with a running orb later on. I expect the deck to serve as the basis for storytelling and prognostication. “Hanged Man” Means What?

This is my model, Falconetta, posing for the “Hanged Man” card in the Bagel Tarot. As you can see, it’s a Medieval Fantasy of Deli Humor mixed with sexy models and stunning 15th century fashions! The fellow hanging upside down in the background is William, Duke of Corinth, but Corinth has already fallen to the heathen, so he needed a job, and this is it. To meet them and get their autographs, you have to get there between Midnight –when the Tarot Factory opens, and 6 AM, which is quitting time, and my models punch out on the time clock slightly early so they can make their bus and subway connections. So what is the “Hanged Man” in the Tarot, and what on Earth does it mean?

Was just reminded that I’m also working on the Witches’ Moon Tarot and the Martian Tarot Deck which is set in Mars City, the new capital of Mars since the fall of Barsoom in A.D. 2012.

Level of Detail

Meet Falconetta; she’s the heroine of my latest tarot deck, The Enchanted Huntress, due for production sometime very soon. The “movie” set around her is a combined effort of the rendering provided by VAL, the models, provided by XxaxX, and the set design, direction and photography, provided by me. The rest of the work is with Marvette and Samantha, and the deck gets from that point to you. The whole deal takes about two weeks to negotiate all the turns, including three different points of proofreading and editing. If I were to render these images in the traditional way, at this Level of Detail it would take about three years to complete, and it would all have to be by the same hand to make it work. Set design of the shooting orb takes about 100-300 hours of steady work. Placement and camera work, about an hour for each setup, plus the actual shots. Costume, character, prop and set changes take an average of an hour apiece. Each model takes many hours to make. There’s a lot of time and effort in these things!!!
