What Secrets did the Ancients possess? Quite a few that have yet to be rediscovered, but people are always rediscovering things they have forgotten how to do, how to make and how to use.

CULTURAL AMNESIA happens every time a large and imposing empire collapses from its own massive weight. Cultural Amnesia is the result of a Dark Age, an age of darkness, when the advances of the previous civilization have worn off and are no longer part of daily life.

Was there an Atlantis?

Yes, of course there was, although “Atlantis” in the Platonic sense is a combination of at least three civilizations from the long-distant past, in human reckoning. I have items from about 30,000 B.C. and they show clearly that technology was very much a part of ancient life as far back as 100,000 B.C. when they flew airplanes and dropped hydrogen bombs on each other, just as they do today.

People before Homo Sap were pretty smart, too, and then there were a surviving race of lizard men, Sauroman, that were encountered infrequently by humanoids. Also on Earth are a new breed of robot that’s being tested by the Grey II researchers on Mount … oops, almost threw that one away, but I’m careful to not violate the Prime Directive. I can give hints, but not actual data.

What I mean is, “somewhere at some undisclosed location”, don’t I??? Yes, of course. Let’s start that over … Somewhere, at some undisclosed location, there’s a Grey II research lab that uses human enzymes for various purposes. Hybrids are easier to make than metals, plastics are organic science, and flesh is so damned vulnerable to accident and illness.

Robots are the dominant higher life form just about everywhere. It takes several thousand years of civilization past the warring states stage to develop anything like Distortion Bubble InterSpace and InterDimensional Travel, as have so many civilizations before and after humans. Continue reading

“I hate Medieval times,” you say when offered a place in a Spiritual Rehab Mission, “and I don’t wish for even a split second that I had been born then, because I was, many times, and if you’re able to recollect what it was like, it could be described as daily grind, daily grind, daily grind, get food, cook food, eat food, sleep — only to be awakened suddenly by an invading horde of Others, the Tribe Next Door or one that came in sailing ships to overwhelm and overrun your shores, and furthermore, I don’t like sitting at a computer and wasting my precious personal time playing some silly game.”

You’re trained to find social and personal value in whatever activity you’re offered, and this is no exception. You have to overcome your personal feelings of “LIKE” or “DISLIKE” when accepting a spiritual training, because you can’t trust your personal taste in this area.

Personal taste is like saying, “I don’t like the taste of this medicine. I like cookies and that’s what I’m taking to get better. Yum, cookie.”

Well, so you don’t happen to give two farthings for the goings-on within the game. Big deal. You think I’m spending sleepless nights worrying about Uber Diablos roaming the Earth?

Exploiting Your Weaknesses

Weakness takes you down, makes your legs unsteady, on the verge of collapse, your ribcage quivers and shakes uncontrollably, and your back aches with the pain of just being there. You can barely move enough to bring yourself to your desk chair, and turn on your computer and left-mouse click the desktop graphic to invoke the Diablo 2 Expansion Pack game engine, but somehow you manage it and sit back to admire your effort.

You invoke the character you intend to run on this session, hoping your utter weakness and helplessness and despair don’t spill over into the game environment to bring sudden death to your Avatar, but you know that you’re just not up to the task, and you’re  unable to make those “good moves” that saves the life of your Avatar time after time, but tonight, you’re feeling so damn punk that you doubt your ability to destroy the enemy creatures.

One secret to handling the weakness and despair and inability to focus is to CREATE A PURPOSE for yourself to accomplish in THIS SESSION.

Don’t try to make it too complex or difficult. It should be an easily attainable goal, some end result that you can see and feel and sense, and yet isn’t too far out of reach.

What you want to create for yourself tonight is a specific and easily reached “Attainable Goal”.

Sometimes the Attainable Goal is the next quest, sometimes the next Experience Level or a higher specific Experience Level that you feel you can attain in the time you have available for this particular gaming session.

The SETTING OF THE GAMING SESSION GOAL is the singlemost important action you will take in Spiritual Gaming Rehab. Continue reading

For the past several weeks, I’ve been playing Diablo 2 for an average of 8-10 hours a day, broken up into two and sometimes three sessions, with breaks about every half hour to an hour, plenty of water to keep hydrated, lots of walking in between missions, listening to my favorite Press Keys, Herbie Hancock, Dave Brubeck or Charles Lloyd album as I whip the Diablo levels into a total frenzy with my combination punch — traps plus fire bombs from my trapper assassin and ravens, wolves and blasts of arctic air from my elemental druid.

The point is, when in combat, don’t dawdle. Pour it on as fast and as heavy as you can, with great efficiency and fervor, then dodge the return fire and do it again until nothing moves and all is quiet on the Western Front. In short, rain down death and destruction like some Hindu Gods I could mention, then have a sip of tea and do it again.

Yes, death and destruction. If you’re going to get into the God Business, you can’t be squeamish about what happens when a universe runs down from Big Bang to Very Very Dark and Quiet. There’s a lot of death and destruction in the normal course of events. Hundreds of micro-organisms die every year, and you wouldn’t believe the statistics in the vegetable kingdom.

So I’m knocking about in various modes, a wide variety of character classes, an even wider spread of character levels from level 1 to level 61, my highest ranking char in hardcore in this most recent run of ladder characters, although I have dozens more in non-ladder, going all the way back to the very first year of Diablo 2, about fifteen years ago, by my admittedly shaky reckoning — maybe 20 years, could be, during the course of which I’ve put in several thousands of hours of experimental game play, with the idea in mind of developing a course of self-study and self-mastery that used gaming as a basis, and that’s what I’m presenting now. Portal Keys are the main use of Triads in the game, although Healing and Higher Contact are the actual intentional uses of this ancient instrument that was introduced into the life of humans of Planet Earth sometime around 30,000 B.C. during one of the earlier civilizations, which has been long submerged under the sea.

Atlantis? Possibly, but there were thousands of city-states that were destroyed in several massive catastrophic sea-level risings, a repetitive event on Earth that is soon to be repeated in our time. What happens is that the seacoast disappears underwater when the ice caps melt, which they’ve been doing for the past 65,000 years, by my clock.

These TAGS can be attached to any Wall, Object or Region. A box that is tagged will operate on the top surface typically unless other indicators are used, such as naming the box and using F6 to edit the appearance.

The problem for the Voyager is that is is often hard to see these milestones without the help of the gaming engine, so familiarity is the remedy, making sure that the Voyager takes for granted the various things that will occur in the Between-Lives State and other dimensional voyages that one might find oneself on with or without previous warning.

In short, anything can happen, and the Compleat Voyager will surely cover all the bases without shorting anything or skimping and saving time, energy, money or dedication.  This means you.

Okay, so how do we achieve results? We build the level as close to the real thing as we are able, then set the various goal points in place along the gaming route, determined largely by the locks and keys that allow or don’t permit passage.

Remember that TAGGING and TRIGGER TARGETS are all about the NUMBERS and LETTERS, just like the Cabalistic Notations you learned in grade school, unless you attended public school — possibly even PS 61 in New York City — in which case, you never heard about this and aren’t sure you’re hearing it even now.
