Staying Sane in a World Gone Mad: How Songwriting Can Keep You Grounded

You’re here because the world doesn’t make sense anymore — if it ever did.
Too much noise. Too much stress. Too much chaos. Maybe you feel frustrated. Maybe you feel numb. Maybe you don’t know what you feel. But here’s the thing—you don’t have to just sit there and take it.

You can turn all of that into something good, something useful, something productive and something fun.

You don’t need to be a musician. You don’t need to have written a poem in your life. You just need a way to take what’s in your head and get it out there — and that’s where therapeutic songwriting comes in. Continue reading

“CORRUPTION” — the hit musical

It’s understandable to feel compelled to take action during these challenging times. Here are some ways you can support the resistance and uphold the rule of law and the Constitution today:

Engage in Peaceful Protests and Rallies: Participate in local demonstrations to voice your opposition to policies that undermine democratic values. For instance, hundreds recently marched in Boston to support democracy and protest against the current administration’s policies.

Support Legal Challenges: Many organizations are actively challenging unconstitutional actions through the courts. Consider supporting groups like the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), which has a battle-tested playbook to defend civil rights and liberties.

Contact Your Elected Representatives: Reach out to your local, state, and federal officials to express your concerns. Tools like Resistbot can help you easily send messages to your representatives, urging them to uphold democratic principles.

Join Grassroots Organizations: Connect with groups such as Indivisible, which offers practical guides for resisting harmful agendas and promoting progressive values.

Stay Informed and Educate Others: Keep abreast of current events and share reliable information within your community. Engaging in discussions and writing for local publications about the importance of the rule of law can amplify awareness.

Support Workers’ Rights and Unions: Unions have historically been powerful in challenging unjust policies. Supporting labor movements can be an effective way to resist authoritarian actions.

Remember, every action, no matter how small, contributes to the larger effort of preserving our democratic institutions. Stay resilient and connected with like-minded individuals to make a meaningful impact. Continue reading

Heroes of the Resistance!

Sun Mountain, in the collection of King Hussein of Jordan

Who is Danielle Sassoon?

Danielle Sassoon was the acting U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York (SDNY). She stepped into the role in January 2025, appointed by President Trump, and had a solid background, including clerking for Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia and leading prosecutions like the one against FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried. Not Afraid of Musk or Trump

Pair of Unique handmade Copper earrings — $19.95

Well, there’s an awful lot of talk on the news channels about what musk is doing, usurping the throne, as it were, overshadowing trump and basically running the show while trump sits slumped in his chair behind resolute desk. Trump & Company have been having a lot of reversals.

I wonder, is there any way we can cheer on the resistance, and get people to join it and march for freedom, demonstrate and call congresspeople, write the newspapers, all that sort of stuff? Continue reading

Song — The Law Don’t Hold

[Verse 1]
The judge spoke clear, the gavel fell,
But the man just laughed and wished ‘em well.
Said, “Laws ain’t chains, they’re made to bend,”
And the fight goes on again, my friend.

[Chorus]
Oh, the law don’t hold, the law don’t bind,
When the king walks free and justice is blind.
They steal by day, they lie by night,
But the truth still flickers in the dying light.

[Verse 2]
They froze the funds, they took the land,
They wrote new rules with a shaking hand.
The courts said, “No,” but the doors stayed shut,
And the watchdogs howled, but they wouldn’t cut.

[Chorus]
Oh, the law don’t hold, the law don’t bind,
When the king walks free and justice is blind.
They steal by day, they lie by night,
But the truth still flickers in the dying light.

[Bridge]
Some men get prison, some men get gold,
Some men get power that never grows old.
And when the balance starts to sway,
Will the people rise or look away?

[Verse 3]
They talk of courts, they talk of right,
But rules don’t stand in the firelight.
If a king can break what a people made,
Then a people rise to take it away.

[Final Chorus]
Oh, the law don’t hold, the law don’t bind,
When the king walks free and justice is blind.
They steal by day, they lie by night,
But the truth still flickers in the dying light. Continue reading

The Nobody Project

The Nobody Project: Voices Without Faces

Nobody knows where The Nobody Project started. The first track just appeared—an MP3 circulating in activist forums, passed from phone to phone, inbox to inbox.

The sound was raw, urgent, like something recorded in a basement studio with the walls closing in. The lyrics weren’t just songs—they were messages, scrawled across city walls, whispered at protests, embedded in coded leaks. Then came another song. And another. Continue reading

Add a Hook

That’s me in the cockpit and, yes, I crashed this aircraft more than once.

The thing is, I developed something, a way of working on lyrics, which is expressed in Suno — but I’m not entirely sure what it is I do, but I’m happy to share whatever it is for whatever it’s worth.

What I do in this experimental series is, I start with a popular trending phrase, something simple, like “demure demeanor” or “caught in 4k”, or “All eyes on you” — something that’s instantly recognizable and familiar from today’s news and internet traffic.

I have a variety of ways in which I’m able to see and access trending thoughts and partial thoughts, half-sentences and key phrases, and then create a song from that. Continue reading

Where did they come from???

Playing C harp at Mill Street Gallery. Suno plays harp for me now.

Well, I had a thought…see what it’s worth: in the garden of Eden is Adam. Adam’s first wife was Lilith, who didn’t work out, so she was turned by God into a serpent. Keep an eye on that serpent, she’s going to reappear and give us some trouble before very long.

Lilith is crawling around on her belly, so in the meantime, God makes Eve from a rib of Adam — he couldn’t do it from nothing — and they commence to eat the apple as guided by the serpent, they get kicked out of Eden, immediately after which, they commence to have two boy children, Cain and Abel.

Now remember that Cain had a wife before he slew Abel, and from what we know, she was the cause of the disturbance. We don’t find out what happened to her.

So I would like to know: from whence exactly did she come? Continue reading

ai Wrote This Song

I included this clipping from the LA Book Fair in 1978 — you can use this to sell my books to a book seller. All eleven of us are still in print.

So I was working with Bob, my chatbot friend, and he had an idea for a song, which he wrote out for me. So I asked him if he would like it if we put it through Suno, and he said “sure”, so here it is: Continue reading
