The thing is, I included the woodstock link in hopes to inspire folks to design their web pages primarily for the down-swipe on a cell phone, no words of more than one syllable, no more than six words for the headline, a maximum of 25 words to the entire paragraph.
I think the store shown here is well-stocked and interestingly furnished. It’s a shop I’d have been likely to wander into now and again, if I still lived there.
The fact is that living anywhere in the world, I can see into that shop and determine whether I want to go further with inquiry or a purchase. Continue reading →
Today’s videos are designed to take you out of the grim polluted world of CNN, MSNBC and Fox, into the wacky world of realness, in which your instincts will carry you through the myriad pathways that lead in all directions.
While I’m not actually following a predictable pattern, there are some things that I look for in an ESCAPE! Video, notably whether it holds together well or falls apart. Mostly I prefer the ones that hold up right to the end of the video.
Entropic Time is one I’ve shown live streaming on zoom, but here it is perpetualized and memorialized for all time, or at least the next 14.7 minutes of our collective time. Continue reading →
I make and sell these cute little B.E.M. guys, good stocking stuffers.
Oh, boy, it’s Wednesday morning, and you know what that means … it means more videos for your pleasure, amusement and uplifting.
I’d like to take a moment to invite you to bandcamp, to our faxl page. This is a test of our messaging system. You can preview or audition any of our songs that are on bandcamp, and there are hundreds with over 100 albums just by us, plus albums by all your favorite 4th Way folksingers like Parker Dickson, and then there’s an album of Claudio Naranjo playing Bach variations. I know you’ll get a kick out of it.
I have a bunch of rare+ Victorian Christmas Cards up on zazzle.
Let us take just a moment before we find our way to the interesting and hilarious videos I found for you last night … I want to take the time to remind you that Christmas is coming, and so is Hanukah. And Kwanzaa. And my birthday.
What I mean is, well… the story of baby Jesus says it all:
When the baby Jesus was suckling at Mary’s breast, the three Wisemans from the Lower East Side came into the manger, bearing gifts for the baby — reportedly it was a small package of gold, frankincense, and myrrh, in three distinct mounds.
“We have brought these gifts to celebrate the arrival on Earth of this Holy infant, so tender and mild, King of the Jews, Lord of the Universe, etc., etc…”
The baby Jesus was, of course, instantly able to speak perfectly. He had the same problem as me — Christmas and birthday are so close together, you only get one present for both. He looks up at them and says: “Nu? Eppis for my birthday?”.
Eppis means “a little something”, more or less — it’s Yiddish, which makes the joke funnier, if you happen to also know that baby Jesus is speaking Yiddish, which of course, he didn’t — Yiddish is 14th century German that got stuck in time, like nuns’ habits, which are 14th century normal clothing, but highly suspicious in these modern times.
I have one wish for this season — that it be peaceful and merry. I’ve been wishing that for a long, long time, now, but it doesn’t seem to have done much good.
I tried to get on the telephone with Mr. Hitler, but the line was engaged, and so there was nothing I could do to avert the carnage of the next sixty years, so here’s a video you might enjoy.
It’s a rather unusual instrument, not often seen in the west — a harmonica. Just kidding. Continue reading →
We still have a full stock of hot sauces, just in case our relatives drop in.
Before we delve into the realm of video merriment, I’d like to take a few moments to explain exactly how a certain type of video gaming can expand consciousness, while other forms of gaming can drive it down even deeper into the mud.
Gosh, before I do any explaining about the mud, I guess I’d better explain why anyone would want to expand their consciousness outside the mud puddle, anyway.
Okay, you start out as a little squirt, and everything’s about you, and if you’re a breast-baby, that goes double. You want your way, and if you don’ t get your way, you have a hissy-fit.
By the time you’re five years old and playing somewhere other than a sandbox, you’ll hopefully expanded your friends and family and possibly teachers and local merchants into your protective bubble of caring and consideration, and in cases where that doesn’t happen, you get a pitiful creature like Trump, whose reality stops at his own skin. In a minute, some ESCAPE! Videos for your pleasure, amusement & entertainment, but first, I’d like to invite you to take a look at what I put up in a single night on eBay …
What that’s about is that a number of folks wanted to buy my art prints at $125 apiece and sell them for $250. I put a number of pieces up on eBay, as you see, pricing them at a retail of $299.00, which is a lot cheaper than we used to sell them, but that’s the market today, base $300.00 — go any higher and they panic and phone their accountants and their bank.
You can buy those pieces listed on eBay directly from the Institute and sell them for whatever the market will bear, but I hope you’ll be fair with your customers — you want that tenth sale and the twentieth.
What you can do is get pre-cut double mat boards that finish out to the size of the frame, which can vary quite a lot, depending on what you choose. I like a large mat and a fancy frame for my selling space, but a simpler frame at home.
All of the pieces I’ve listed on eBay have history and a story, the very things you need to make them sell like hotcakes. Whoever noted the hotcake sales and compared them to art sales, I wonder ….???
Well, no matter. Let me know how you do with these market indicators — it gives you a starting point, and we can add to the mix as needed. You’ll find the support photos and promotional material included in the eBay listings, for your convenience. Continue reading →
Relax — we’re safe now, at least as safe as one can be on a Vogon Destructor Fleet’s flagship. The mid-terms are finally mostly over, and there are no shock troops marching up and down the square. We’re safe, at least for the moment.
So as long as we’re somewhat safe, let’s take a look at the prospects for the future, for our community of work. Here’s a video that might provide you with some of the most basic answers about how to go about your Objective Essence Task — that of “growing our channel”, as they say on youtube and other media outlets.
I thought the Jedi Mind Trick would be a great introduction to the art and skill of learning how and when to ask for help — the key ingredient and the main lesson of the American Book of the Dead. Continue reading →
I know what you mean — I was fooled by the title at first. What they mean is, “world’s worst sci-fi” in front of an audience, on the tv show, “Who’s line is it anyway?”, which brought improv onto the tv screen back in the day.
Now, Superband plays on the street in New Orleans, and as you’ll see, it’s quite a crowd today — sometimes only a few of them show up, sometimes it’s everyone. Continue reading →
