Well, here it is, time to go hunting for some terrific videos that don’t collapse in the middle and stay interesting right to the end. Try it sometime. The hunting, I mean. It’s not as easy as you’d think, without getting repetitious and dependent on several reliable channels to provide easy targets. It ain’t that easy. There’s the audience to consider, and the timing of the humor relative to public sentiment and pressures. In short, it ain’t easy.
The idea is, you like the experience and decide to share my blog link with a number of people who are listed as “friends” or “followers” or “disciples” or whatever passes for a group in active association.
In short, you better have your facebook together.
If you don’t have a facebook page or know what facebook is, we have a phone — it’s the kind that sits on a desk and you turn the dial to get the number, which you have to store in your head. Good luck, Gen Z’ers.
Today, you don’t have to even remember your own name and address. Just press a button and follow the instructions given you by your GPS app on your omnipresent cellphone.
If you still have a cellphone in your hand at all times, you need help, professional help, and I’m just the help you need. Put the phone down.
If you are still unable to put the phone down, you might as well enjoy these videos. It’s like I told one of my students, who is afflicted with kleptomania, the urge to steal things, to take two aspirins and if it didn’t work, pick me up a color TV and a diamond wristwatch.
When you play the Youtube Game, you can gain some insight and self-knowledge, as well as development of adaptation skills. Improvise, Adapt, Overcome. Good advice from any source, which in this case is the U.S. Marine Corps, however, that saying does NOT mean “to find new ways of getting high without getting caught”.
What it DOES mean is, things change and plans don’t always work out, so you need to learn to adapt fast to the unexpected and make it work whatever way you can.
Sort of like dealing with TV dinners. If they’re not all the same, somebody’s going to be disappointed.
Is it easy to play the Youtube Game?
Of course it is. At first. After a while, you begin to notice things, and pretty soon, you’re obsessing about a new #short and watching the numbers go up on your stat charts.
You actually HAD AN EFFECT. It might be the first time, in which case, congratulations. It will surely be among the few effects that have a MEASURABLE level of success.
What I mean is, you can show anyone that graph, and they’ll see that your numbers are going up. That could only be a result of work that you did, and that’s validation enough for most folks.
It feels good to KNOW that you had an effect and to ACTUALLY SEE for yourself how much of an effect it was.
Now try to beat those numbers. That’s the game. Okay, time to laugh a little and share it around.
Okay, that’s enough fun for the moment. Now let’s get serious for a moment. That’s enough serious. Now let’s get to our day’s work ahead.
See You At The Top!!!
