Just my SIGNATURE on a 3″x5″ card is worth $300.00, and if there’s a drawing with it, you can add a couple hundred, or even a few thousand dollars to the price, depending on subject & complexity.
Anything I produce out of my studio is worth a few hundred dollars at least, and often it’s in the thousands. Even a brick is worth something.
Think of an NFT as a brick — an old, heavy solid brick. The only difference is that the brick is signed and dated by a Listed American Artist with a reputation going back to the 1950s.
It’s a notable fact, duly recorded on ZOOM, that I sold a signed & dated brick at a live auction yesterday.
It’s just a brick, and yet it’s not.
The fact that I selected the brick out of the totality of the environment and then signed and dated the brick says that I recognize it as an art object, in the class of “found object”, and in the process of selecting it and signing it, I’ve also come up with a fair price for attracting your attention to the heretofore “useless” and “uninteresting” ordinary brick.
The fact that I did not draw on it is important.
As an art collector, you didn’t pay for the brick. You paid for MY SIGNATURE, which indicates that you should think about the brick differently for a moment or two, before proceeding on. That’s what found art is all about, making you see the art in it.
How much is that brick worth? Not nearly as much as a digital photo of it would be.
Don’t try to figure it out. There’s no rhyme or reason to it. It’s just another art fad, and it will be over soon enough to trap plenty of people at the bottom of this massive pyramid they call “blockchain”. My USB NFTs are not blockchains and they don’t deplete the environment or suck up millions of watts of energy in order to authenticate a transaction.
What is art?
It’s not what you find in a museum. Museums are filled with the donated art treasures of the upper class, nothing more than yet another tax-dodge.
So who would pay millions for a digital copy of anything, you ask??? Suppose I had a photo of, but did not possess, a million-dollar, spectacularly powerful and very revered, ancient “Dzi” bead — and you desperately needed healing. You might pay a million.
The copy of the thing is the thing itself, and by a complicated series of events, the photo and the original did coincide in space and time. In short, it answers to both possible magical laws, Similarity & Contagion, so the NFT should be powerful, particularly if the USB has also been Blessed.
So the original bead is up on eBay for let’s say, $4.5 Million dollars, and there are half a dozen more that are just as valuable, ancient and revered for their miracle healings, and they’re all up there, too.
Okay, how much is my CRYPTO USB NFT of that Dzi Bead actually worth?
Depends on how many you intend to make. One? Edition of 10? Edition of 1000? How many people need to benefit? How many do you think you can actually sell at ANY price???

The whole point of this exercise is to expand the circle and bring more folks aboard the Bardo Train. You can make a difference. If you make an NFT that brings even one lousy million bucks, you can make an even bigger difference.
Get out there — electronically, of course — and SELL these things! Not just one to your cousin Ralph, but a whole bingy-bongy bunch of them, and the only way to sell these is by reaching people and putting this concept in their face!
That means social media without getting too darn social, if I deem rightly, and I seldom don’t.
