Bow to the King — or else!

HOW YOU CAN HELP GET OUR MUSIC OUT THERE!

We’ve written and published and produced over 1,000 songs in the past few months — that’s 18 huge albums on Bandcamp, along with a songbook in digital form and in paperback, and there’s a goldmine of material for you to use—but now we need ears on the music. That can only mean getting it in front of many many people, and you can help make that happen — we have no other way open to us, so it’s up to you!

Here are some super simple, effective ways to spread the word. Pick what works for you—every little bit helps!

1. SHARE SHORT CLIPS ON SOCIAL MEDIA (TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels)

  • Pick a 15–30 second clip from a song and post it.
  • Title it something catchy & relevant (Example: “The Protest Song You Need to Hear Today”).
  • Use these hashtags:
    #politicalsatire #protestsong #countrymusic #newmusic
  • Add a call to action: “Tag someone who needs to hear this!”

Even if just one person shares it forward, the reach grows exponentially.

2. POST LYRICS & LINKS ON FRIENDLY SITES

  • If you’re active on the internet it’ll be easy for you to simply drop a single powerful lyric from a song, then add:
“This inspired our latest track. Listen here: [Bandcamp Link]”
  • If a political event is trending, comment with a song link:
“We wrote a protest song about this exact moment. Check it out.”

3. JOIN MUSIC & POLITICS GROUPS ON FACEBOOK & REDDIT

  • Look for groups like “Protest Songs & Political Music” or “Indie Folk & Country”
  • Drop a link and say something like:
“Just released this track—what do you think?”
  • Reddit has subreddits for musicians & political satire—find them and post!

4. BANDCAMP PROMOTION – MAKE IT EASY FOR NEW LISTENERS

  • If you have a Bandcamp account, follow our page, like songs, and share the best tracks.
  • Suggest we pin a “Best of the Month” or a “Protest Song Spotlight” album to the top of the page.
  • Share the Bandcamp link in places where music lovers hang out.

5. CONNECT WITH PODCASTERS & YOUTUBERS

  • Know any indie YouTubers, podcasters, or bloggers who cover music or politics?
  • Suggest they feature one of our songs or do an interview.
  • Drop a comment on their videos saying:
“This song would fit perfectly with your content—check it out!”

6. DUET & CHALLENGE VIDEOS – LET OTHERS ADD TO THE SONGS

  • A TikTok duet challenge where people add their own verse to a song could take off.
  • Example: “What would YOU say to a politician acting like a king? Add your verse!”
  • This encourages interaction and makes the music spread organically.

7. INVITE PEOPLE TO BANDCAMP & OUR BLOG

  • The more people visit, follow, and interact, the better.
  • Share the blog posts, tell your friends, and get the conversation going.

WHY THIS MATTERS

We’re creating real music with a message—not just noise.
The right people will love what we’re doing—but first, they need to hear it.
And that’s where you come in.

One share, one post, one comment—it all makes a difference.

Let’s get this music out there.

Title: Bow to the King
(A Medieval Political Comedy in Three Chords)

[Verse 1]
They rolled out the carpet, the trumpets did sing,
But he didn’t bow low, didn’t kiss the king.
No grovel, no scrape, no trembling fear,
So the royal court sneered, “You’re not welcome here.”

[Chorus]
Bow to the king, kiss the ring,
Or watch the whole world burn.
It ain’t about war, it ain’t about peace,
It’s just about taking your turn.

[Verse 2]
They don’t want solutions, they don’t want a plan,
Just kneel like a peasant and shake their hand.
If you don’t say “thank you” the right number of times,
They’ll cut off your aid, call it war crimes.

[Chorus Repeat]

[Bridge] (Spoken word, with a sneering mock-royal tone)
“Oh, your grace, your majesty, your highness divine,
How ever could we survive without your shine?”
(Beat drops back in)
But he didn’t play the fool, didn’t dance for the show,
And that’s when the tantrum began to grow.

[Verse 3]
Leaders or children? It’s hard to say,
Throwing their toys when they don’t get their way.
History repeats, the circus remains,
But the jesters insist they are anything but not gay.

[Final Chorus]
Bow to the king, kiss the ring,
Or watch the whole world burn.
It ain’t about war, it ain’t about peace,
It’s just about taking your turn.

(Outro fades out with mocking medieval lute sounds)

Space Janitor Blues

(Cosmic Comedy in Three Chords and a Mop)

[Verse 1]
They built this whole station, took over the sky,
But someone’s gotta clean it when the toilets run dry.
Millionaires in zero-G, floating like kings,
But down in the maintenance deck, I fix their damn things.

[Chorus]
I got the Space Janitor Blues, mop in my hand,
Cleaning up messes I don’t understand.
They’re sipping moonshine on a gravity-free cruise,
But I’m knee-deep in trouble with the Space Janitor Blues.

[Verse 2]
They got gold-plated helmets, suits tailor-made,
While I scrape Martian gum off the floors they parade.
They got AI butlers, but guess who they call?
When the oxygen leaks or there’s sludge in the hall.

[Chorus Repeat]
I got the Space Janitor Blues, mop in my hand,
Cleaning up messes I don’t understand.
They’re drinking champagne on a Jupiter view,
But I’m stuck in the vents with the Space Janitor Blues.

[Bridge]
They talk about progress, they talk about dreams,
But it ain’t trickling down to the ones in the beams.
I float through the corridors, no medals, no fame,
Just another damn cog in their money-built game.

[Verse 3]
One day I’ll hijack their shuttle, take off in the night,
Find me a planet where work ain’t my life.
But until then I’m stuck here, just scraping the grime,
While they toast to the future on billionaire time.

[Final Chorus]
I got the Space Janitor Blues, mop in my hand,
Cleaning up messes I don’t understand.
They’re buying new planets like they’re parking spots,
But I’m still on shift, wiping up cosmic snot.

🎪 Welcome to the Circus 🎪

(A Political Honky-Tonk Spectacle)

[Verse 1]
Step right up, take a seat,
It’s the greatest damn show on Pennsylvania Street.
We got clowns in suits, a lion that tweets,
And a juggler who drops every promise he keeps.

[Chorus]
🎪 Welcome to the circus, the lights are so bright,
But don’t look too close or you’ll see through the hype.
They don’t want solutions, they don’t have a plan,
They just want applause—so clap while you can. 🎪

[Verse 2]
They say he’s a genius, they say he’s so wise,
But the mirror’s just laughing—he believes his own lies.
They call it a debate, but it’s more like a fight,
With pies in the face and chairs taking flight.

[Chorus Repeat]

[Bridge] (Spoken in a carnival barker voice, with a call-and-response feel)
🎭 Step right up! See the magician! (“What’s he do?”)
🎭 Watch him vanish your healthcare, right out of view!
🎭 And over here—the human pretzel! (“What’s his trick?”)
🎭 Watch him twist every fact till the truth doesn’t stick!

[Verse 3]
The elephants march, the donkeys all bray,
But they’re just different acts in the same tired play.
A high-wire stunt with no safety below,
And you paid for your ticket—enjoy the big show.

[Final Chorus]
🎪 Welcome to the circus, round and around,
You can laugh, you can cry, but don’t make a sound.
The house always wins, the fools always stay,
And the tent never closes—it runs every day. 🎪

(Outro fades with a honky-tonk piano, carnival noises, and maybe a big sad trombone sound at the end—wah wah waaaaah! 🎺🎭)

🎶 Denim on Denim Blues 🎶

(When Fashion Goes Too Far…)

[Verse 1]
I woke up feelin’ stylish, thought I’d make a scene,
Slid into my double denim—lookin’ like a dream.
Got my jean jacket, jean shirt, jeans tight as glue,
But when I hit the street, people hollered, “What happened to you?”

[Chorus]
🎶 I got the denim on denim blues,
Too much fashion, now I’m confused.
Ain’t no contrast, just one shade of fate,
Even my boots are blue—Lord, it’s too late. 🎶

[Verse 2]
Went to the diner, ordered coffee to go,
Barista said, “Honey, you lost your torso.”
Blended in with the background, I was one with the sky,
Even my grandma walked past—didn’t bat an eye.

[Chorus Repeat]
🎶 I got the denim on denim blues,
My wardrobe’s givin’ folks the spooks.
They say variety is the spice of life,
But my whole damn outfit’s the color of strife. 🎶

[Bridge] (Spoken, like an old-school country storyteller)
Then I met a stranger, dressed just like me,
Jean on jean, like a denim destiny.
We locked eyes, I tipped my hat,
He said, “Son, that’s too much blue—you gotta fix that.”

[Verse 3]
So I ran to the thrift shop, grabbed somethin’ bright,
Found me a red shirt—Lord, what a sight!
Stepped out in colors, broke free from the blues,
Now I’m a man of contrast, I got nothing to lose!

[Final Chorus]
🎶 I lost the denim on denim blues,
Now I mix it up, I paid my dues.
A little contrast, a little flair,
No longer lookin’ like a walking nightmare! 🎶

(Outro fades with a honky-tonk piano and a wailing blues guitar, maybe even a harmonica riff for good measure.)

🎭 “Lend Me Your Ears”

(Shakespeare Meets Protest Blues)

[Verse 1]
🎶 Friends, Romans, countrymen, lend me your ears,
I come to bury Caesar, not bring him to tears.
The evil men do, it don’t fade away,
It lingers in power, and it wins the day. 🎶

[Chorus]
🎶 Oh, ambition is dangerous, the mighty do fall,
But power’s a beast that won’t die at all.
They call it justice, they call it fate,
But the knives are out when you stand at the gate. 🎶

[Verse 2]
🎶 He was my friend, he was noble and true,
But the crowd loves a villain when the lies sound new.
Brutus spoke fair, said it had to be done,
But now Rome is burning under someone else’s sun. 🎶

[Chorus Repeat]
🎶 Oh, ambition is dangerous, the mighty do fall,
But power’s a beast that won’t die at all.
They call it justice, they call it fate,
But the knives are out when you stand at the gate. 🎶

[Bridge] (Spoken, with rising intensity)
🎭 You all did love him once, not without cause!
🎭 What cause holds you now to deny him applause?
🎭 I should stir you to mutiny, to rise and fight,
🎭 But I am no orator, just speaking what’s right…

(Instrumental break – heavy blues guitar, deep drum thuds like marching soldiers.)

[Verse 3]
🎶 So tell me, good people, what do we do?
When leaders fall, do we start something new?
Or do we just follow, heads hanging low,
While the next great betrayer takes up the show? 🎶

[Final Chorus]
🎶 Oh, ambition is dangerous, the mighty do fall,
But power’s a beast that won’t die at all.
They call it justice, they call it fate,
But history keeps proving—it’s always too late. 🎶

(Outro fades with a slow, eerie riff, as if the ghosts of Rome are whispering through the ages.)
