Add a Hook

That’s me in the cockpit and, yes, I crashed this aircraft more than once.

The thing is, I developed something, a way of working on lyrics, which is expressed in Suno — but I’m not entirely sure what it is I do, but I’m happy to share whatever it is for whatever it’s worth.

What I do in this experimental series is, I start with a popular trending phrase, something simple, like “demure demeanor” or “caught in 4k”, or “All eyes on you” — something that’s instantly recognizable and familiar from today’s news and internet traffic.

I have a variety of ways in which I’m able to see and access trending thoughts and partial thoughts, half-sentences and key phrases, and then create a song from that.

I could just as easily use something like “the swift effect” or “swift drift” which I did, and it might result in a few more views. Note that I didn’t specify which swift that was — naturally the swift to which I’m referring is the Common Swift, Apus apus.

Swifts are found worldwide, except in extreme polar regions and some remote islands. Depending on the species, they migrate between continents and thrive in various climates. Here’s a quick breakdown of their native ranges:

Common Swift (Apus apus) – Europe & Africa

  • Breeds across Europe, North Africa, and Asia.
  • Winters in sub-Saharan Africa—one of the longest migrations in the bird world.
  • Seen in the UK, Germany, France, and Eastern Europe from spring to summer.

Chimney Swift (Chaetura pelagica) – North & South America

  • Native to eastern North America (U.S. & Canada).
  • Migrates to South America (Peru, Ecuador, Brazil) for winter.
  • Often seen in urban areas, roosting in chimneys and old buildings.

Pacific Swift (Apus pacificus) – Asia & Australia

  • Breeds in China, Japan, Korea, and Russia.
  • Winters in Indonesia, the Philippines, and Australia.

White-throated Swift (Aeronautes saxatalis) – Western North America

  • Found in the rocky cliffs of the western U.S., Mexico, and Canada.
  • Non-migratory but may move to lower altitudes in winter.

African Palm Swift (Cypsiurus parvus) – Africa & the Middle East

  • Found in sub-Saharan Africa, Madagascar, and parts of Arabia.
  • Lives year-round in warm climates, often nesting in palm trees.

What Makes Swifts Unique?

  • They spend almost their entire lives in the air, even sleeping while flying.
  • Some swifts never land except to nest—a true “born to fly” species.
  • Their migration patterns are some of the most extreme in the bird world—flying from Europe to Africa non-stop for months.

Song — Demure Demeanor

Lyric Hook (Chorus):

Demeanor dey are… but da demure dey fall!
All cool and collected ‘til they lose it all!
Smiling like an angel, but I’ve seen it all…
Ooo, yeah, da demure dey fall!
Verse 1:

They sip their tea, pinky up, so refined,
Talking like a saint but they schemin’ in their mind,
Honey-dripped words, oh, they got that “rizz” —
But push ‘em too far, see how wild they is!
Verse 2:

The way they walk? Slow motion, movie scene,
But inside? Ooo, they burst at the seams!
Dressed in beige, but the flag ain’t light,
You blink once, and boom! They ignite!
Bridge: (Breakdown moment, slow jam before the beat drop again)

Tell me why they always play it smooth,
Like they got nothing to prove,
‘Til the mask slips, and you see the truth?
Oh, da demure dey fall…

Song — Caught in 4K

[Chorus]

Ooo, caught in 4K, you can’t lie now,
Flipped the frame, I zoomed in, slowed it down, wow!
You played me, but the pixels don’t fade,
Now you viral—everybody knows your name!

[Verse 1]

We was low-key, playin’ off the grid,
You said, “Trust me,” now I wish I never did.
Lipstick on your collar, but you said it’s AI—
Damn, you really out here tryna gaslight?

[Verse 2]

Said you ghostin’—nah, you just went offline,
But the screenshots? Tell a different storyline.
Check the footage, frame by frame,
You ain’t glitchin’, nah, this ain’t a deepfake!

[Bridge]

You caught up, caught up—freeze-frame, screenshot,
Tryna edit the truth, but the filter don’t crop,
Rewind, play back, ohh you got got,
Now it’s clickbait headlines, and you’re TikTok’s top plot.

[Chorus]

Ooo, caught in 4K, you can’t lie now,
Flipped the frame, I zoomed in, slowed it down, wow!
You played me, but the pixels don’t fade,
Now you viral—everybody knows your name!

Song — All Eyes on You

[Spoken, smooth & stylish, like you already won]

“Ohhh, look at you—got the whole room watchin’,”
“Didn’t think twice, but the spotlight’s locked in.”
“Strike a pose, make a move—too late, they knew,”
“Smile real nice, babe, all eyes on you.”
[Verse 1—sung, low and rhythmic]

You walked in cool, but the air got tight,
Drippin’ in diamonds, but your past ain’t light.
Flashed that grin, played the long game,
But I know every move in the fame parade.
[Pre-Chorus—sung, sultry buildup]

Glass in hand, keep the hands real steady,
Whole world waitin’, oh, they hungry, they ready.
Tell me, do you like the view?
Well, babe… now the view likes you.
[Spoken, effortless, like a slow head tilt]

“Ohhh, look at you—got the whole room watchin’,”
“Didn’t think twice, but the spotlight’s locked in.”
“Strike a pose, make a move—too late, they knew,”
“Smile real nice, babe, all eyes on you.”
[Verse 2—sung, more bite now]

Dressed in black, playin’ coy in the smoke,
But every camera flash tells the inside joke.
Whispered low, tried to keep it discrete,
But babe, your echo got its own heartbeat.
[Bridge—mood shift, almost whispered over a deep bassline]

You said no one’s watchin’,
But the walls don’t blink.
You said no one’s talkin’,
But I hear them think.
[Final Chorus—spoken, with a knowing smirk]

“Ohhh, look at you—got the whole room watchin’,”
“Didn’t think twice, but the spotlight’s locked in.”
“Strike a pose, make a move—too late, they knew,”
“Smile real nice, babe, all eyes on you.”

Song — The Swift Effect

[Verse 1]Gliding high where the ground can’t reach,Never seen, but you feel the breeze. You try to hold me, but the air won’t stay,No footprints left, just clouds in my way.

[Pre-Chorus]I don’t perch, I don’t wait,I don’t linger at the garden gate.One breath, I’m already gone,You blink and the wind moves on.

[Chorus] (Floating, hypnotic, echoing layers)”Call my name, but I won’t reflect,””Riding currents, fading steps.””Catch me once, but I redirect,””You can’t hold the Swift Effect.”

[Verse 2]Chased my shadow ‘cross the blue,Thought you knew me, but I slipped through.Took my time, but time took me,Left my song on the highest tree.

[Bridge] (Drop into near silence, then slow build back up.)Did I ever land, or was I just a dream? You saw a flash, but not the in-between.Paper planes and hurricane schemes,Gone before you know what it means.

[Final Chorus] (Lifted, soaring, final flight.)”Call my name, but I won’t reflect,””Riding currents, fading steps.””Catch me once, but I redirect,””You can’t hold the Swift Effect.”

(Outro fades into the sky, whispers of melody drifting away, never quite landing…)

Song — Swift Drift

🎵 “Swift Drift” 🎵

(Ethereal indie-pop with cinematic overtones—think Florence + The Machine, Bon Iver, or Lana Del Rey with a touch of dreamlike percussion and soaring harmonies.)

[Verse 1]

No roots, no land, just sky, just light,
Riding currents through the velvet night.
I don’t wait, I don’t fold,
The wind calls my name, and I just go.

[Pre-Chorus]

No touch, no trace, no tether,
Held by nothing, lost forever.
Driftin’ past the hands of time,
Never yours, never mine.

[Chorus]

“I don’t fall, I don’t rest,
Sleeping weightless on the breath of the west.”
“I don’t land, I don’t stay,
Riding the sky ‘til the stars slip away.”

[Verse 2]

Skimming low over the golden tides,
Moonlight bends where my shadow glides.
Try to catch me, but I can’t be held,
Drifting deeper into the blue itself.

[Bridge]

They say I never touch the ground,
That I live between the clouds.
That I dream in motion’s arms,
That I am wind, I am sound.

[Final Chorus]

“I don’t fall, I don’t rest,
Sleeping weightless on the breath of the west.”
“I don’t land, I don’t stay,
Riding the sky ‘til the stars slip away.”

(Outro fades into the sound of wind, echoing into the sky…)
