Yep, still crankin’ out those songs, this time toward a new album, “1000 and Beyond”, celebrating the fact that I’ve made more than 1,000 songs on Suno. But I only listened to 14 of them. That’s a joke.
Let’s stir the pot of creative mischief! Here’s a fresh batch of song ideas that I’ve limited to a total of ten. That doesn’t mean that all these songs will make the grade. Some don’t. I plan to produce about 20 of them before trying to decide on an album lineup.
When I worked for RCA, it was in their A&R department — artists and repertoire — meaning that we tried to match up the songwriters with the singers.
At that time, the 1960s, you guarded your songs very closely, so you didn’t get beaten to the airplay radio station exposure that you needed to make a single into a hit.
Today you can launch 2,000 songs a day, and nobody will notice. Anyway, these songs are hand-written by what passes these days for a human — that’d be me — and the whole thing depends less on ai than if you performed on a bank of synths and used a looper and a mix board.
The end result is exactly the same, once you use anything that requires direct electronic connection.
The choice of voices is fairly wide in Suno, but when you’re forming a band, you take what you can get, and sometimes the drummer just can’t sing.
As I’ve said before, the particular voicing and arrangement you get is entirely up to you. With a band, you have to adjust to skills and equipment issues. With Suno, you have a far wider choice of sound and feel — Suno can play pretty much in any language.
Okay, so here’s a list I came up with for tonight’s work in song composition and production:
- “Echoes in the Hallway” – A haunting ballad about memories that linger like whispers in empty spaces.
- “Golden Road Blues” – A soulful journey through the ups and downs of life in Gold Country.
- “The Midnight Bell” – A mysterious tune about a bell that only rings for the unseen.
- “Quantum Conversations” – A playful song imagining a chat with the universe, inspired by SuperBeacon vibes.
- “Old Hands, New Dreams” – Celebrating wisdom and reinvention from our multi-talented and dedicated community.
- “The Invisible Orchestra” – A surreal track about the music of life, where every heart plays an unseen note woven intricately into patterns of light.
- “Houses of Wonder” – A tribute to life in the community, blending humor and heart.
- “Spaces Between the Stars” – A dreamy piece about finding meaning in the vast unknown.
- “The Harmonious Human Blues” – A nod to your daily practice, telling the story of striving for balance.
- “Dancing on the Edge of Creation” – Capturing the thrill and wonder of the God State.

Echoes in the Hallway
[Verse 1]
I walk these halls where the shadows fall,
Every step, a whisper of your name.
The air grows cold, but the stories stay warm,
Filling the silence with your flame.
[Chorus]
Echoes in the hallway, singing through the years,
Carrying the love, the laughter, and the tears.
No matter where I wander, they follow as I walk,
Echoes in the hallway, I can hear them talk.
[Verse 2]
The floorboards creak a heartfelt sigh,
Familiar tunes in an empty room.
I see your face in the broken glass,
A fleeting glimpse of the past’s perfume.
[Chorus]
Echoes in the hallway, singing through the years,
Carrying the love, the laughter and the tears.
No matter where I wander, they follow as I walk,
Echoes in the hallway, I can hear them talk.
[Guitar Solo]
Time can’t erase the melody,
A haunting refrain that sets me free.
Though you’re gone, you’re never far,
Each echo a thread to where you are.
[Chorus]
Echoes in the hallway, singing through the years,
Carrying the love, the laughter, and the tears.
No matter where I wander, they follow as I walk,
Echoes in the hallway, I can hear them talk.
[Outro]
I’ll keep right on walking, though the walls may fade,
For the echoes in my heart will sing their serenade.

I ran this through Suno and got four different options. I immediately chose the first one I heard, and then, having listened to all four versions, I adapted my first instinctive choice, and it actually has the makings of a hit, with the right release.
So I’ve saved it to my hard drive, and it’s definitely going into the album.

Golden Road Blues
[Verse 1]
Dust on my boots, the sun sinking low,
Walking the same old Golden Road.
Dreams promised gold, but the gold’s all gone,
Left with the sound of a miner’s sad song.
[Chorus]
Oh, the Golden Road Blues, where the river runs dry,
Chasing those riches, just me and the sky.
Through the hills and the hollows, the stories unfold,
Singing the Golden Road Blues of a heart turned to gold.
[Verse 2]
The trees stand tall, but their whispers fade,
Carrying tales of the lives they’ve betrayed.
Riches and ruin, it’s a bittersweet tune,
Sung to the rhythm of the pale silver moon.
[Chorus]
Oh, the Golden Road Blues, where the river runs dry,
Chasing those riches, just me and the sky.
Through the hills and the hollows, the stories unfold,
Singing the Golden Road Blues of a heart turned to gold.
[Bridge]
Every vein has own its price to pay,
The gold that you find won’t actually stay.
But down in the quiet, a truth still remains,
Riches in love outweigh all the gains.
[Chorus]
Oh, the Golden Road Blues, where the river runs dry,
Chasing those riches, just me and the sky.
Through the hills and the hollows, the stories unfold,
Singing the Golden Road Blues of a heart turned to gold.
[Outro]
Now I walk with a lighter load,
Leaving behind the Golden Road.

This song construction gave me the opportunity to play with some arrangements. Here’s one that I think you’ll agree is typical of night club and lounge fare, which was my intention:
==========================================================
The Midnight Bell
[Verse 1]
In the quiet of the darkness, when the clock strikes twelve,
A haunting sound calls from deep within the well.
A chime that whispers to the lost and the gone,
The Midnight Bell, where the shadows belong.
[Chorus]
Oh, the Midnight Bell, it tolls for the unseen,
A song for the spirits in the in-between.
It echoes through the stillness, a tale to foretell,
Who hears the call of the Midnight Bell?
[Verse 2]
No hands will touch it, no rope will sway,
Yet its mournful tune will not decay.
Some say it’s the wind, others claim it’s a sign,
But the Midnight Bell rings beyond space and time.
[Chorus]
Oh, the Midnight Bell, it tolls for the unseen,
A song for the spirits in the in-between.
It echoes through the stillness, a tale to foretell,
Who hears the call of the Midnight Bell?
[Bridge]
They say it rings for the souls unbound,
For the whispers of the lost underground.
Its tones are a doorway, a portal, a key,
Unlocking the mysteries we cannot see.
[Chorus]
Oh, the Midnight Bell, it tolls for the unseen,
A song for the spirits in the in-between.
It echoes through the stillness, a tale to foretell,
Who answers the call of the Midnight Bell?
[Outro]
As the night fades to dawn, the echoes subside,
The Midnight Bell sleeps where the secrets hide.

So my next subject on the list I created for tonight’s general rampage into the field of flowers/music, is quantum stuff:
================================================================
Quantum Conversations
Verse 1
I tuned the dial, and the stars replied,
A billion voices in the vast divide.
They spoke in waves, in patterns and light,
Secrets unfolding in the endless night.
Chorus
Quantum conversations, dancing in my mind,
Particles and whispers, a language undefined.
Through the cosmic static, a melody so true,
Quantum conversations, just me and the view.
Verse 2
The galaxies spun their tales of old,
Of time’s great tapestry, as the stories unfold.
I asked them why, and they laughed with such grace,
“Your question’s the answer, in this infinite space.”
Chorus
Quantum conversations, dancing in my mind,
Particles and whispers, a language undefined.
Through the cosmic static, a melody so true,
Quantum conversations, just me and the view.
Bridge
Every question births a million more,
Each one a key to a different door.
The SuperBeacon hums, and the silence breaks,
The universe answers the risks we take.
Final Chorus
Quantum conversations, weaving through the night,
A symphony of meaning in the endless flight.
Through the cosmic chaos, the truth comes through,
Quantum conversations, just me and you.
Outro
So I will keep on listening, as the stars will align,
For quantum conversations in this heart of mine.
=========================================================
Okay, it’s a leap of faith, but here we are. Now, here’s an idea for a song that might appeal to a somewhat larger audience, what with all the jazz, and all that jazz.
========================================================
Old Hands, New Dreams
[Verse 1]
These hands have built, they’ve broken and healed,
Sown the seeds of every field.
Lines on the surface, but fire inside,
A story of hope that refuses to hide.
[Chorus]
Old hands, new dreams, reach for the sky,
Building bridges where rivers run dry.
With every step forward, no matter how small,
There’s life in these old hands, and new dreams for all.
[Verse 2]
The weight of years can feel like stone,
But wisdom blooms where the heart has grown.
Every mistake, a lesson to share,
Turning the scars into gifts we bear.
[Chorus]
Old hands, new dreams, reaching for the sky,
Building bridges where rivers run dry.
With every step forward, no matter how it seems,
There’s life in these old hands, chasing new dreams.
[Bridge]
Dreams don’t fade, they change their hue,
Painting the world in colors anew.
Together we rise, a circle complete,
From every loss, we find our feet.
[Chorus]
Old hands, new dreams, lighting up the night,
Turning the darkness into guiding light.
With every step forward, no matter how it seems,
There’s power in old hands, chasing new dreams.
[Outro]
So here we stand, a story untold,
New dreams unfolding in hands of gold.
===================================================================
So that’s a good base from which to work, I think. We’ll see how the Suno recording works out, and go from there. Here’s a direction toward which we could propel ourselves:
====================================================================
The Invisible Orchestra
[Verse 1]
In the stillness of the morning, when the world is just waking
A symphony swells up as the sunrise is breaking.
Each heart a note, each breath a string,
The Invisible Orchestra begins to sing.
[Chorus]
Oh, the Invisible Orchestra plays through the night,
Weaving unseen patterns of darkness and light.
Each soul a melody, every moment a score,
The Invisible Orchestra, please give us more.
[Verse 2]
The wind through the trees whispers its refrain,
The rhythm of the rain taps on the windowpane.
Even silence joins with its solemn tone,
The orchestra plays, though it’s never shown.
[Chorus]
Oh, the Invisible Orchestra, playing through the night,
Weaving unseen patterns, a tapestry of light.
Every soul’s a melody, every moment a score,
The Invisible Orchestra, forever more.
[Bridge]
From the stars above to the depths unseen,
Every heartbeat pulses, part of the dream.
An endless cadence, a cosmic muse,
Life’s great orchestra, where nothing is refused.
[Chorus]
Oh, the Invisible Orchestra, playing through the night,
Weaving unseen patterns, a tapestry of light.
Every soul’s a melody, every moment a score,
The Invisible Orchestra, forever more.
[Outro]
So listen close, we’ll see you real soon,
The Invisible Orchestra and its visible tune.
========================================================================
Now I think something about space would work just right in this spot on the menu — keep in mind that lessons unlearned will be repeated and yes, I meant to say “scars”.
========================================================================
Spaces Between the Stars
[Verse 1]
Out in the silence, where the darkness gleams,
Beyond the edges of our fragile dreams.
In the endless void, where time falls apart,
Lies the space between stars, touching the heart.
[Chorus]
Oh, the spaces between the stars,
Where the answers hide, where we heal our scars.
Through the infinite night, where we find who we are,
In the spaces between the stars.
[Verse 2]
The light may guide, but the shadows teach,
In the quiet distance, where words don’t reach.
A dance of galaxies, a mystery unfolds,
The spaces between the stars whisper untold.
[Chorus]
Oh, the spaces between the stars,
Where the answers hide, where we heal our scars.
Through the infinite night, where we find who we are,
In the spaces between the stars.
[Bridge]
Every silence holds a song,
Every distance pulls us along.
In the stillness, the truth reveals,
The spaces between show what’s real.
[Final Chorus]
Oh, the spaces between the stars,
Where the answers hide, where we heal our scars.
Through the infinite night, where we find who we are,
In the spaces between the stars.
[Outro]
Out in the silence, where the cosmos breathes,
We find our meaning in the unseen seas.
