It’s a question of Merit

Okay, when you get right down to it, it’s a question of Merit. You are here on Earth to earn the Merit needed in order to pass on to the next higher level.

It’s as simple as that, but not everything earns Merit.

Merit is very much like Experience Points — you can’t proceed until you run up the numbers. Does being nice to your neighbors count for Merit?

What do YOU think?

So how do you earn Merit, anyway?

It’s like magnetism. It’s there. You can prove that it’s there. But you can’t see it. You can only see its effects.

Merit is like that — you can’t see what makes Merit and you can’t see the Merit itself, but don’t worry — you use electricity all the time without being able to see it.

As I wrote in today’s blog, a few lines up, Merit is invisible, like magnetism or electricity—you can’t see it directly, but you can see its effects. And just like electricity, it’s always there, even if it’s invisible. The important thing to know is that earning Merit is essential for progressing to the next level.

Now here’s the question: How do we earn Merit? It’s not just about being nice to your neighbors or doing good deeds—it’s about meaningful action. Helping others, sharing wisdom, and amplifying something that benefits the greater good are all ways to generate Merit.

Here’s a simple way to earn some Merit this week: share my videos. By spreading them, you’re not just helping me, you’re helping this community grow, and you’re making sure these teachings reach people who might really need them. That’s tangible Merit.

Think of it like earning Experience Points. You can’t move up a level in a game without putting in the work, right? Sharing a video or telling someone what inspired you about it is like a mini-Merit quest. And the ripple effect—like magnetism—will spread further than you can imagine.

To make it fun, here’s this week’s Merit Task:

  • Share just one of the videos with at least one person, and if you can, add a short personal note about why it resonated with you.
  • Then, let us know you did it! I’d love to give shout-outs during our next meeting and even share some behind-the-scenes insights with you as a thank-you for actively participating.

Every small action adds up. Together, we can create a powerful wave of positive energy—both for this work and for ourselves. So, how will you earn Merit this week?

Let’s see where this magnetism takes us!

Stone’s Lament

Verse 1:
I’ve been here a million years, it could be much more,
Watching the deer run free, hearing the eagle’s soar.
Roots wrapped all around me, moss gives me a crown,
Time keeps moving, while I stick around.

Chorus:
I’m just an old rock, with a tale untold,
Weathered by the wind, and the rain so cold.
I’ve seen the fall of empires and kings,
But here I am still listening to the Earth sing.

Verse 2:
Humans pass by, don’t give me a glance,
But I’ve seen them all—every fleeting chance.
Footsteps may echo, and laughter soon fades,
But I’ll still be here, far beyond their parade.

Bridge:
Oh, if I could speak, the stories I’d share,
Of ancient trees and a world that cared.
But I’m just a rock, so steady, so still,
Holding the secrets of the Earth’s solid will.

Chorus:
I’m just an old rock, my tale has been told,
Weathered by wind, and the rain is so cold.
I’ve seen the sad fall of empires and kings,
But I’m still here, listening to the living Earth sing.

Outro:
So, roll me away, or leave me alone,
I’ll weather it all, ’cause I’m made of stone.
Patient and silent, I’ll watch the time flow,
The musings of a rock, you finally know.

The Forgotten Teapot

Verse 1:
Once I poured for queens and poets, now I’m cold and dry,
Sitting on the cupboard shelf, just watching years go by.
My glaze has cracks, my spout’s chipped too, but still, I dream of tea,
Of steam and stories, laughter shared, and the warmth of company.

Chorus:
Oh, I’m a forgotten teapot, dreaming of tea and steam,
Oh, I’m a forgotten teapot, reliving my porcelain dreams.
Once I was the centerpiece, now I gather dust,
But in my heart, I hold the past, where memory never rusts.

Verse 2:
I’ve seen the rise of morning light and the glow of midnight’s moon,
Heard the whispers of secrets shared and the hum of a favorite tune.
The kitchen’s quiet now, no clinking cups, no chatter by my side,
But I still hum the echoes of the love I hold inside.

Chorus:
Oh, I’m a forgotten teapot, dreaming of tea and steam,
Oh, I’m a forgotten teapot, reliving my porcelain dreams.
Once I was the centerpiece, now I gather dust,
But in my heart, I hold the past, where memory never rusts.

Bridge:
Sometimes I hear the kettle sing and wish I could join along,
I’d pour the perfect cup again and feel like I belong.
But time has passed, and fashion’s changed, I’m no longer in their style,
Yet deep within, I hold my place, in a world that’s worth the while.

Chorus:
Oh, I’m a forgotten teapot, dreaming of tea and steam,
Oh, I’m a forgotten teapot, reliving my porcelain dreams.
Once I was the centerpiece, now I gather dust,
But in my heart, I hold the past, where memory never rusts.

Outro:
One day they might remember me, and bring me back to life,
Fill me with warmth, a gentle brew, to ease the daily strife.
But even if they never do, I’ll still hold my love unseen,
For I’m a forgotten teapot, living my porcelain dreams.
