Fling Some Poop!!!

Below, you’ll find the lyrics for “Fling Some Poop”, which I wrote here in this blog. It was originally inspired by the actions of certain unnamed individuals of the zoo variety, which is to say, “monkeys”. Actually, I’ve seen and studied many primates, and they all pretty much seem to do the same things, and clearly for the same reasons.

Fling Some Poop

(Verse 1)
In the jungle of life, we’re all swinging,
From branches of egos, opinions clinging.
Some toss the news around, others bring the scoop,
But too many folks out there just love to fling some poop.

(Chorus)
Fling some poop, oh, fling it high,
Watch it arc across the sky.
Doesn’t matter where it lands,
As long as they’ve met my demands.

(Verse 2)
Social feeds and the nightly news,
Banana debates and flinging views.
Forget the kindness, forget the truth,
Just grab your gripes and fling some poop.

(Bridge)
But what if we stopped, took a little pause?
What if we built instead of clawed?
Maybe one day we’ll change our tune,
And toss something else up to the moon.

(Chorus)
Fling some poop, oh, fling it high,
But maybe we can learn to try,
To throw a smile or a helping hand,
And leave the poop for the jungle band.

(Outro)
So next time you’re mad, just hold your stoop,
And think before you fling some poop.

I didn’t think that the couplet Outro was going to work, but it did. Thank you, William Shakespeare, for showing us that quatrains and couplets are the big secret to writing poetry and plays that happen to be written in Iambic Pentameter.

That’s it for today.

See You At The Top!!!
