I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again — “there is no cure for stupid.” Unfortunately, even if you’ve heard the expression before, you might reserve a little judgment. Maybe the cure doesn’t always work.
The bad news is, it never works. “No cure for stupid” is the entire message, end of line.
What can you possibly do in the face of that challenge to somehow reduce the suffering? And like a struggling swimmer, they tend to punch out the lifeguard.
The thing is, it’s always been this way, all the way back to the stone age. Red team, Blue team, and no wiggle room in the middle. Slaves and slave-holders.
And when one of the teams is unaware that there’s a battle going on, things can get very terrible, and that’s what’s going to happen. Very terrible.
