Cliffs, caves, caverns and cathedrals. That sort of sums it up … religion, I mean, along with thousands of variants of spiritual teachings. It’s not that the teachings are wrong or unreal, none of that.
It has to do mostly with the control of mobs. “The Public” is actually a mob, but one which is typically not driven by a single focus or idea, such as “revenge” or “fury”.
Back in cave-man days, how you controlled the mob was with a king and a shaman, or a shaman-king, someone to get the attention and help of a variety of gods, goddesses and assorted deities.
But how…???
If you’re a prehistoric shaman, the first thing you need is a cliff or a cave. Sometimes a cliff can produce an echo, but it’s 100% sure that a cave will do the trick.
Caves produce reverb and echo, and as any superstitious native of the Solar Moon “Earth” will tell you, “Reverb is the Voice of God”.
Nobody in ancient times knew WHY reverb and echo happen in caves, but they do, and it spooks the hell out of anyone who’s never heard one.
Caves are also dark, and anything can be lurking in pitch blackness, so you go in with a torch, but then there’s the shadows, and there might be demons or monsters in the flickering darkness.
Caverns are huge, and they’re even spookier than caves, and the sounds more mystical, and cathedrals doubly so.
Cathedrals are built for the reverb. Everything else is secondary. Placing the choir out of sight or up on a balcony creates the effect of Heavenly sounds descending on the audience.
This is not a New Thing. Sounds, lights, all sorts of phenomena, have been taken by people as signs from Something or Other.
In ancient times, the Greeks, Romans, Egyptians and Sumerians all had huge statues in their temples, all rigged to move at the correct moment, scaring the hell out of the peons, which was the intention.
The motive behind the Great Pyramid was to scare the hell out of anyone who might think of tampering with the might of Egypt.
Maniacal rulers build big, in order to intimidate. That’s how they rule, by convincing others that they have powers, and sure enough, some of them do.
You might consider the fact that the human brain is not a computer. It’s a learning machine, reprogramming and rewiring itself at every new thing learned.
You can force that by creating new things to learn.
Of course, there’s then the trick of applying that. It’s all in the application. Theory alone will get you nowhere fast.
So if you want to inculcate a space with mystery, try echo and reverb in the darkness and see how far you can go.
In the meantime, you might want to actually try the next exercise in online side-hustles, namely, the three-inch square sticker.
Here’s How I Did It:
If you are creating 3″ square paper stickers, there are numerous uses and applications you can suggest to your clients. Here are a few ideas:
- Branding and Marketing: Encourage your clients to use the stickers as branding tools for their businesses. They can include their logo, tagline, or contact information on the stickers and distribute them at events, trade shows, or as part of promotional campaigns.
- Product Packaging: Suggest using the stickers to enhance product packaging. Your clients can add them to boxes, bags, envelopes, or other packaging materials to give their products a professional and personalized touch.
- Event and Wedding Favors: Stickers can be used to create unique event favors or wedding souvenirs. Your clients can design stickers that match the theme or color scheme of the event and offer them as giveaways or mementos.
- Personalized Gifts: Custom stickers can be used to personalize gifts for special occasions. Clients can add stickers with personalized messages, names, or designs to gift items like notebooks, mugs, water bottles, or stationery.
- Arts and Crafts: Stickers can be incorporated into various arts and crafts projects. Clients can use them for scrapbooking, card making, journaling, or as decorative elements in DIY projects.
- Packaging Seals: Suggest using the stickers as seals for envelopes, packaging, or gift wrapping. They can add a touch of elegance and ensure that the contents are secure.
- Laptop or Device Decorations: 3″ square stickers are suitable for decorating laptops, tablets, or other devices. Clients can showcase their favorite designs, artwork, or express their personality through custom stickers.
These are just a few suggestions, but the possibilities are truly endless. Encourage your clients to get creative and think outside the box when considering the uses for their 3″ square paper stickers.
After you’ve gotten up a few hundred, we’ll talk about using Pinterest to promote them, and other promotions as well.
Some people have actually built a $5,000 a week business out of zazzle products, and there’s no reason you can’t do the same, and you can get a lot of work ideas out there at the same time.
It’s definitely worth your time and effort, for obvious financial reasons — the income is totally passive, no shipping, no sales pitch, no customer service, it’s all done for you by zazzle, for a small price, and you just collect the profit.
I get checks from zazzle now at the rate of two to four checks in a one-month period, and that’s pretty good, but my click-throughs are really high these days, with the generative art and all.
…And then there’s the spiritual payoff, or should I say The Spiritual Payoff??? Yeah, there is one, actually two: Merit and Help.
It feels good to make things that people like, and you have to develop SOME way to get rid of those thousands of ai-generated images you’ve piled up on @Nightcafe, right?
So that’s what Barbara and I are going to do right now — put some stickers up on zazzle for your amusement and edification, with the idea in mind of encouraging you to do likewise.
We’ll be showing those off at the morning zoomfest.
See You At The Top!!!
