Redecorating Time

I decided to re-do several exhibition halls, one of which was the paper arts exhibit. I had originally posted them in real-life comparative size on the wall, so you could barely see them — the prints are around 11×15 or slightly smaller, on fine art stock.

They are all priced for fun — these originally brought a lot more money, but it’s been a long, long time, and times are tough, so I made ’em cheap like dirt.

We started with the yellow plate, then the red, then the blue and then finally the black overlay. The white came from the paper itself, like watercolor.

Mostly we did okay with single-color runs, but even then, I have a few from which we only got 11 or 12 good prints.

Edition size varied based on how many Barbara and I could squeeze out of the run before the thing went haywire, meaning the print no longer looked good.

Even a ripped paper can destroy a print, so we lost quite a lot, but I’ve heard worse stories from graphic artist friends and schoolmates.

So after I re-launched the Works on Paper exhibition, I had some time left over — actually, several hours at least — so I decided to try putting all the thangkas in the Blessing Room into matted frames, and that’s what I did.

I added a photo on the far wall. Otherwise, it’s the same old Blessing Room.

I still had some time left over before breakfast, although the hour is just now approaching fast, so I did all the framing in the mixed media after changing the gallery shape and taking out then replacing all the sculptures, whew.

Now, finally, it’s time for breakfast and the morning meeting at which I hope to see your smiling face, so I’ll post this and be on my way.

See You At The Top!!!
