How would you like to open a bunch of presents just like on Christmas Day, but every day of the week? That’s what it’s like to find coin treasures in a bank box or bag. If you like surprises, you’ll love what’s in store for you when you perform the Zen Practice of coinology. You never know what’s around the next corner. Family Holiday Fun! Here are the Game Rules for coinology:
COINOLOGY GAME RULES
1. Remember that it’s only in-game money; you can’t actually take it with you where you’re going.
2. All coins must be “self-found” from bank boxes, bags, pocket change or rolls. No “bought” coins may be used to fill a Tournament Coinology Collection.
3. You work at your own pace, in your own space. Timed competitions occur only at official coinology shows.
4. No cheating, meaning placing a “close” coin in substitution. If a coin is missing, leave the slot empty.
5. All competition collections must be at the same level; “All REDs”, “RBs” or “Brownies”. For home practice, I recommend mostly brownies with some RBs where possible.
6. The goal of this game is to fill every slot, not to impress with grade. Any coin that fits the slot is okay to use, if the date and mint-mark are clear.
That’s the set of rules as they exist right now. Any more rules or suggestions would be appreciated.
Collections are specific; I use Littleton Green Lincoln Memorial Cent #2 folder for beginners. It yields a wonderful array of bright, beautiful coins that can only be marred by fingerprints and scratches — their certain fate in the hands of noobies, unless you develop some hand-eye coordination and attention-level skills mighty fast, and get out of the noobie level as quickly as you possibly can, is my advice to you. At least get out of Rogue Encampment.
You’ll find my Christmas Family Fun collection challenges on my eBay store. It’s there somewhere…oh, I guess you can click here.
See You At The Top!!!
