You are bidding on the full purchase price of a non-patented Placer Mining Gold Claim in Sierra County, California. The claim is the Yuba Sutter Placer #2 located near Sierra City on Highway 49.

There is an easy off-road access and a wondrous camping ground right next door to the property, with all the benefits of a full camping ground.

The placer mining claim is a non-patented federal mining claim. Fees are current, and you will need to file paperwork every year in order to hold onto the property.

Upon payment, the mineral claim will be transferred via a notarized Quitclaim Notice filed in your name with the County and BLM.

This is a federal mining claim and mineral deposits are protected by law. All mining activity on these and any other claims is prohibited unless permission is obtained by us.

There is are two streams and a river running through the property. You get about 1,000 feet of river frontage and it’s located high up in the Sierra foothills.

Upon full payment plus a $250 fee, we will send you a Quitclaim deed naming you as the new owner of this mining claim. All fees and documents required by the BLM have been filed for this assessment year. You will need to file either an annual maintenance fee or an affadavit of performance of annual work with a waiver form with the BLM before September 1st, 2020, and each following year thereafter. If you fail to correctly file the paperwork with BLM, they will close the claim. We will include the required forms to maintain the claim in good standing with the BLM and send you copies of the following:

  2. You will receive the BLM recorded Quitclaim Deed after the claim is paid in full and you will receive the DEED some four to six weeks later.

Prosperity Mine 2014 — Paydirt area on the smaller stream.

First of all, you have to have a gold mine somewhere. This is a photo of the Prosperity Mining Claim in Nevada County, California. Note that it’s a nondescript general photo of the small stream on the property. There are no identifiable reference points in the photo — that’s because I don’t intend to give away the location of the mine, because I don’t want swarms of city folks blasting away at the bedrock out of sheer greed.

If you’re taking minerals out, notably gold, lead, silver and iron pyrites, along with several of the heavier gemstones such as garnet, which is used to make carborundum polishing compounds, you have two basic choices, once you’ve located an outcropping or gold ledge — go with heavy equipment and blasting powder, or take a little at a time.

Here’s the thing — gold mining by itself never pays more than survival and a tiny bit extra for sex, booze and camp supplies.

There are some nice air-breaks and drops in the upper part of this photo, just below the ripples. You’d look for bedrock, of course, but first, you’ll want to find the exact water-break where the floodwater allows the gold to drop straight down through an air pocket. Gold wants to fall first, and will be ahead of all the other heavy minerals, slightly upstream from the sand, where the gravel falls and the heavier metals will be found.

Gold Mine For Sale or Rent Cheap

As many folks know, Claude and I have a goldmine that we haven’t worked in many years. Why not? Simple reason: doesn’t pay. Why not? Simple answer: to make a gold mine pay, you need OSHA clearance, among other things. You need a license to exploit mineral rights, even on your own property. The biggest problem is, you don’t want to advertise where your mine is located — that’s inviting disaster in a hurry. The other increasingly obvious reason is that we’re just too dang elderly for all that climbing and hiking and bending and waterlogged drenchings and cold misty mornings. On the other hand, a few expeditions in there every so often wouldn’t be too bad. Here’s the deal: we can’t take in a workshop — it’d reveal the location of the mine, the very last thing you’d want to do. One more major piece of information weighing in rather heavily…gold is at the bottom of a price-test, and that means people are not interested in buying it right now. The public only buys a thing when it’s at the top of its price range, so when gold goes up and up and up, they’ll eventually buy — right at the tippy-top of the market. Then, quite predictably, when gold goes back down, as it always does when traders take a profit on the way up, they sell. Pardon my chuckles. So the gold mine has sat for several decades with nobody seemingly interested. But all of a sudden, we’ve had three inquiries about the mine, all from the same general direction…
