Picasso Original — RARE 1944 WWII period plate-signed copperplate engraving, $12,500 in an exquisitely rich carved gilded wood frame. Absolutely no one else has this, and it is one of the rarest of Picasso original works on paper.
“So what?” you ask, “what has that got to do with me?”.
I guess you’re right, if you’re the sort of being who sits around day and night flipping the channels on the TV and the remaining hours glued to a cell phone, aptly named — it is a prison of sorts — just watch people walking down the street looking down at their cell phone, and people in deep conversation with each other, two feet apart, but they’re not talking, they’re texting.
So what DOES the above copperplate engraving have to do with you?
Depends. Do you know any art collectors, specifically Picasso collectors, who could afford this piece? As a matter of fact, do you know ANYONE who could easily afford to buy this? If not, you are not cut out to be an art consultant or gallery director, unless it’s someone else’s gallery.
If you don’t happen to have a gallery at the moment, that’s not a big obstacle. Here’s my gallery, provided just to set the tone and establish my credibility as an art dealer:
Of course, I no longer have the gallery, but I do have photos showing the gallery I used to have, and if someone buys online, what do they care if you have a storefront?
There are many ways of presenting yourself, the art dealer, to the buyer — it’s all a question of trust, when it comes to Fine Art, which is not commercial art.
Fine art has a definite secondary market — junk commercial art does not typically have an after-market unless it’s a collectible, connected in some way to some celebrity, the more deceased, the better.
Here’s a shot of my atrium, providing ample evidence of art dealershipping. Not every home has a set of professional shop counters, but mine does, because we do so many workshops.
So what can you sell online that you don’t already own?
Hey, if you got wholesale contacts in ANYTHING, you’re ‘way ahead of the game. I have, for instance, a powerful ally in the form of the world’s largest-volume rare coin dealer, from whom I can get coins that I can’t afford, on speculation that I can sell them in a few days’ time, and so far, so good.
I’ve currently got an option on an incredible coin. I’ll show it to you:
This is a 1795 Flowing Hair Large Cent — rare beyond compare, one of the first coins to ever be produced by the United States. The American government began operating by law according to the Constitution on March 4th, 1789 — this is only a few years later!
For a Flowing Hair Large Cent, this example is unusually fine and quite amazing — doesn’t Liberty look like she’s riding a Harley???
If you want this coin at $2,850, contact me at once — there are dozens of buyers out there looking at this coin, and it may very well be sold after this weekend’s coin show. Imagine the effect of having this coin totally protected in a coin-safe capsule and mounted on a beautiful, ornate jewelry, notions or keepsake box.
But you don’t have to imagine — I will produce it for you if you buy the coin!
Dr. Fear is Here!
You don’t have to sell art or coins or anything tangible. What about offering online coaching for Spirit or Soul Travel?
You can download the Orb and have folks run through it at your Movements Training Center or downtown dojo. By the way, did you know that you can rent a dojo space for around $15-$20 an hour?
If you have a half dozen people who want to practice the movements in a nice space, that’s one way to go — share the cost between you.
If you advertise those movements classes locally, you will be surprised to find yourself with a small group of interested parties in no time. Movements are always popular.
You can advertise a local workshop, and you’d be amazed at how many people will show up in your backyard for a class on crafts or craft fair selling or painting, drawing or sculpture!
Of course, you won’t go to the bank with much of that, but it is rewarding in other ways. If you need to earn a living, you’ll need to employ other tactics, such as:
Problem is, you have to have a few of those ancient secrets to sell, trade or give away. If you don’t have a pocketful of ancient secrets, you’ll need something a little more tangible. How about this:
Meet me online and I’ll walk you through the Bardos! Yes, you can offer an online coached tour of Bardo spaces, and there’s enough there to last several hundred sessions!
You’ll be amazed at what can open up with Bardo Excursions and Radiation Cleansings and Encounters and more! You can ask a donation of $20 an hour for coaching or do it free, if you have a lot of time on your hands and an independent income of $200,000 a year or more.
If you’re not among the Fortunate Few, you’ll want some more options for selling, trading and such, so here’s another suggestion:
Rock Painting is very popular and people literally stopped shopping just to paint a rock with us in our gallery!
Sometimes there’d be as many as 20 people painting rocks at our fair booth! They get to KEEP the rock they painted, or they can leave it for someone else, and take a rock that’s already there that someone previously left for them, see?
In this business model, you only make money on the jewelry and trinket boxes you manage to sell. The classes — if any are needed for rock painting — are always free.
Here’s an amazing deal!
Here’s my friend Herbie Hancock speaking at the International Association for Jazz Education, which has as its theme image for that event my painting of Herbie’s keyboard. The actual paintings used in this show are available for sale starting at $50,000.00 The key painted backdrop that you see behind Herbie is gallery-priced at $350,000.00 and independent third-party tax and insurance appraisals are available.
I have for sale dozens of equally important jazz art paintings involving Nancy Wilson, B.B. King, Wynton Marsalis and many, many other jazz and blues greats who performed in front of my painted canvas backdrops over a period of more than 50 years, and I have the photos to prove it.
If you bring in a buyer, you get a very fair percentage of the sale. Want to know more about this opportunity to help the community? You have but to ask.
Here’s yet another idea for making some money in this weird economic environment where only the rich are doing well:
This lovely little 1655 Amsterdam oil painting by David Teniers is in its original 18th century frame and is available at only $135,000.00 and I will provide what I know about the history of the piece as part of the bargain, and bargain it is!
The painting remains undisturbed in its original wood frame, and the age is evident throughout, yet the painting is in PERFECT condition for its age. Naturally, it shows evidence of crackle on the surface, but is otherwise amazingly intact.
Very seldom is an older painting contained in its original frame, but this one is! The story of this painting is as interesting as it gets in the art field, and there IS a story behind it!
This piece can be donated.
It isn’t the most important David Teniers painting ever discovered, but there is NO small hometown art museum that would turn it down! It’s beautiful besides being old and painted by an important Dutch Masters artist!
So if you remain unmoved by all the previous, what about this???
I have this original wall sculpture in at only $1,500 and that’s the price at which I’m offering it. It has a wood frame that I built for it back in the day, and this is the piece that George gave to me after we did a San Francisco show — we traded pieces, and he ended up with the original cut-felt “Big Bird” that I had done for the L.A. show originally.
I have another copy of this same fiberglass multiple casting, but it’s more money, because it comes in the original cardboard shipping box and has all the original papers and such — it’s available at only $3,500.00 and is absolutely guaranteed authentic.
Then there’s this:
If you have a floatation tank, you’ll want my floatation tank inductions. They work. Don’t complain when they do. If you wish for something, make sure you really want it. These inductions will take you out of this world.
If out of this world is not your current idea of a good time, what about this little item:
It’s a lifetime impression of a bather by Renoir. The gallery tag for this absolutely incredible Theodore Duret 1910 impression is $9,500.00 and not a penny less. There’s cheaper, but nothing this good on the market at this time. I have all the evidence necessary to back up the date and publisher claim. Authenticity is absolutely guaranteed, and a third party exam is part of the deal.
Anyway, I think you get the idea. There’s so many ways you can help the community, and help yourself dig out of your financial bind at the same time.
