What Ever Became of Gayle McCormick???

Gayle was stunningly drop-dead gorgeous, bursting with positive energy and expansiveness that enabled her to become one of the biggest stars of the Los Angeles rock scene — but then, suddenly, bam! She dropped out of sight, leaving a legacy with “Smith” and a few indie singles that made the charts to #44, not an impressive showing. What the heck-darn happened to her, anyway?

All we know for sure is that she’s alive and living in St. Louis.  Here’s a composite to show you some of her sound and look:

This next piece has a very Bardoesque introduction; the theater graphic at the opening shot is very reminiscent of the Magic Theater…isn’t it, fellow Bardo Voyagers???

Now the fact is that this group did a rather unmemorable cover of “The Weight” and that’s the version that went into a movie called “Easy Rider”, instead of the original by The Band, because they were under contract to Warner, and “Smith” was signed to Dunhill, so — the cover made it onto the movie, but the fact is that the cover is heavy fail compared to the Band’s original.
